The Changing Chapters of Nature: Lake of the Isles
Contributed by Bill Cleveland

Every morning I get up, and I run on down to Lake of the Isles, and I run around it. When I first start to run around it, I'm feeling all chipper and everything. So I meet and greet everyone with a sense of love and acceptance. Then about halfway around, I start to get tired. And I meet the other side of my personality which is "why are you in my way" and "God, this is a long way around here," and "I'm really bored of this part of the walk." Lake of the Isles is like everyday I experience the changing chapters of nature. When you do it everyday you notice things like the depth of the water, the leaves on the trees, the length of the grass, when the ice starts to form, when the ice goes a way, and it's just a really good way to experience the natural world. Everyday to start your day off that way is really just a joy and a gift.
