Historic and Modern:

The Stone Arch Bridge

Contributed by Christopher Gritzmacher

My favorite place is the Stone Arch Bridge on the Mississippi River by St Anthony Main. I like that place because when I first got to Minneapolis, I used to live over in Southeast Minneapolis kind of by the University. I would go down there, walk down there, maybe once a weekend and it just kind of became this place for me, a place that I could associate with the Twin Cities. It's got a lot of history too, you know, the mills and the parks down there. So it kind of reminds me of Minneapolis like the old historic stuff. They're doing this excavation of the old mills they are going to turn that into a park which is really cool. Then there are a lot of new condos that are going up in the old mills like new high-priced condominiums. Which is really cool. It's a really nice place. I used to go there at least once a week and then I'd walk into down town. I'd go there with friends and walk across the bridge.
