The Center for Caring and Comfort:

Southwest Senior Center

Contributed by Evalena Smith

I think it's my favorite place because when I started going I was very sick and very depressed. I would sit at home all day, watch TV and cry. Well, not watch TV because the tears were in my eyes. People there are so friendly, the place is clean, and there are so many good things that go on there--the activities. Some of us enjoy the education and we have fun doing them. The people that you know from the center are good friends. I have several of their phone numbers and I talk to them from time to time. Through one of the ladies there, I found another place, the Green Clinic. We go on outings and I'm on their mailing list. All of them seem real nice. I don't remember names. When I'm there and not feeling well, I can always relax. Because I am not well, and sometimes I have bad days. The coordinators Lea and Maria are very nice and they understand my illness.
