What Life Was Like: Research Center at the Minnesota History Center
Contributed by LuEllen Pettengell

My favorite place is the Research Center at the History Museum. I do family research, so I come to Minnesota, because this is where my ancestors are from. My aunt and my dad were raised here in Minnesota. I like to do research of the history right here in the History Center. I feel like I get a lot of success in my research here because I can read old newspapers--by reading the old newspapers I can find out when people were married and I can find out little interesting stories about what life was like in the time before. The atmosphere is very peaceful. I enjoy it. Now, other people might need to go to Merry Go Rounds, but my excitement is sitting behind the microfilm reader reading film and researching my ancestors.
