Stephen Farley's Favorite Places Project

I moved to Minneapolis this past December. Everyone in Omaha thought I was nuts. "You're moving to Minnesota in December? Do you know it's cold there? Not just cold, but really cold?" I had already survived four MN winters while I was in college-it didn't scare me.

The funny thing is-when I got the itch to leave Omaha- I was thinking about moving to the Pacific Northwest-maybe Oregon. But, I didn't know anyone there. I was up in the Twin Cities visiting my best friend, talking about moving, and she said, "why don't you move here?" It was a Sunday morning in October. We flipped through the newspaper, I found a couple of job possibilities, and was living and working here 6 weeks later.



			The Hottest Ice Cream Ever: Sebastian Joe's

		I love it here- I can do "city" in Minneapolis. I grew up on a farm in Iowa- I love the outdoors and a strong sense of community. I find that here. And ice cream- I love ice cream. And there's a lot of good ice cream in the Twin Cities. Why is Sebastian Joe's my favorite place? Wow! I had the most amazing date at Sebastian Joe's. We fed each other chocolate malted ice cream- definitely the hottest ice cream I have ever had. And he read me a story called "Max in Love" -he even did the dog voice with a French accent. Everyone was watching us - we were glowing. I think one of the guys came by and washed the tables 4 or 5 times! People looked at us and smiled at us a lot. I think we gave off some pretty good energy. And we were happy- that's no secret! Really my favorite place is more about the relationship than the ice cream. But don't get me wrong-the ice cream is pretty amazing too.
