My favorite place is Powderhorn Park. I live right on the park and under certain atmospheric conditions particularly in the morning, you can wake up and it's very foggy and very misty, sometimes at night too. Just for some reason the way the weather turns at certain times of the year if there has been a heavy rain and then it's cool or whatever the conditions are, but when the fog starts to roll in from Powderhorn Park it's just amazing. I've got a picture of my dog on a misty morning walking through Powderhorn Park and it's just absolutely gorgeous.
I first started renting there and then when I decided I really wanted to be a home owner I searched for housing near the park and I got lucky and got a duplex right on the park. It had been on the market for like nine months, this is back in 1991 and 1992, this is when the market was favoring buyers and not sellers and I got it for very cheap. Now it is probably worth twice what I paid, at least.
I've been very lucky and very blessed to be able to live on the park. |
