About the Artists…

The Favorite Places Project is a thoroughly collaborative effort on the part of the youth and elders in the group under the mentorship of a team of artists. Click on the underlined names below to find out more about the individual artist.

Lead artist: Stephen Farley
Steve (pictured at left working on the project) conceived the project as part of his residency for the McKnight National Fellowship for Interdisciplinary Artists unde the auspices of Intermedia Arts. He is flying in and out of the Twin Cities from his home in Tucson, Arizona, to oversee all aspects of the project

Usry Alleyne
Usry is a Twin Cities multimedia artist and graphic designer who is working with the teenagers five hours a week to help them build skills in art, interviewing and computers as they digest the stories shared between the elders and the teens.

Barry Kleider
Barry is a Twin Cities photographer who is overseeing the interviewing process between the teens and the elders one hour a week. Visit his website at www.barryphotography.com
