Who I am…

Born: June 27, 1935
Birthplace: Duluth, Minnesota
Came to the Twin Cities in 1965

“I had nine sisters and no brothers. That was good. I was a spoiled brat.

“After I got married, we went to live in California because there was no work in Duluth. We lived out there for three years. It was a good time, but I wanted the seasons to change, so we went back to Minnesota.

“I wish I could’ve played golf when I was young, but I never did. Now I just got one arm that I can move. I had a stroke about three or four years ago. Then I got paralyzed on the left side.”

Favorite Place: Minnehaha Falls

“It looks like I’m listening to the falls. Looks like I’m very peaceful. The ol’ fart needs a haircut!

“I especially like the falls because we used to go there a lot. They had Scandinavian Days out there—that was 20 years ago. Me and my wife, and her mother, and mother’s mother, her daughter… Always had a nice picnic—hamburgers and hotdogs and potato salad.”
